What you'll do

You will play a pivotal role in leading and implementing flagship community projects as part of our Sustainability division. Your day-to-day responsibilities will revolve around utilising your exceptional project management skills to identify and resolve issues, manage risks, and identify cost-saving opportunities. You will also be responsible for building and managing relationships with our Retail Community Champion network, internal stakeholders and external charity partners, effectively showcasing the social and commercial benefits of our community initiatives. Your focus will be on ensuring the successful implementation of community and partnerships programmes, aligning objectives, outputs, and impacts with our broader strategy. Your strong financial acumen will be essential as you manage community financial processes, including ARIR, budget trackers, and Local Heroes applications. Timely and efficient response to queries from stores, charities, and colleagues will be crucial, as well as building strong stakeholder networks.

Who you are

You are a highly skilled and strategic professional with a passion for making a positive social impact. With your strong project management skills, you lead flagship projects that align with our strategy, ensuring successful implementation of community and partnership programmes. Your ability to build strong relationships with external partners, manage budgets, and drive efficiencies demonstrates the social and commercial benefits of our community initiatives. With your expertise in data analysis, effective communication, and understanding of the charity and retail landscape, you excel in transforming data into compelling community stories that engage both colleagues and customers. Your track record of working in a large commercial organisation, focusing on project management, corporate responsibility, and reporting, positions you as an invaluable asset in driving and enhancing Sainsbury's community programmes.
