What you'll do
As a Commercial Lawyer at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality legal support to businesses and functions across the Sainsbury's Group to enable strategic commercial agreements and procurement activities. As part of a wider team of lawyers in the Commercial Law team, your responsibilities will include pragmatic and timely advice to support Group objectives, continuous improvements in contract negotiations with key suppliers aligned with evolving business needs and the creation and delivery of precedents, processes and standards. Additionally, you will understand and stay abreast of emerging legal issues in technology and Artificial Intelligence, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive your ongoing personal development to enhance your legal expertise and effectiveness within the team.
Who you are
Highly motivated, qualified legal professional, possessing sound knowledge of contracting principles and a proactive approach to providing pragmatic and commercially-focused legal advice.
Deep understanding of a range of commercial and IT agreements and key contracting issues such as liability, service levels, IP, and data protection.
Expertise in SaaS and other cloud-based agreements as well as a working knowledge of technology software and hardware contracts is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and drafting skills using clear, concise and user-friendly legal language.
A proven team player with strong project prioritization skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborative, curious and communicative, with strong abilities to work under pressure while demonstrating Sainsbury’s valued behaviours (Own It, Make Things Better and Be Human).
