Why join us
Joining Sainsbury's Tech as an Enterprise Architect means embarking on an exciting journey to tackle some of the most compelling technology challenges in the retail industry. You will have the opportunity to work on some of our highest priority initiatives that impact large parts of our technology estate. Our Enterprise Architects will work end-to-end in shaping our technology, driving our design choices and influencing key stakeholders to meet our business goals.
As part of an agile and empowered team, you will collaborate with talented colleagues across Engineering, Product and Architecture to create innovative, scalable and future-proof solutions. We foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and ownership, where your expertise and influence will extend across the organisation. With our commitment to ongoing development and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, this is an exceptional chance to make a real impact and shape the future of retail technology.
What you'll do
As an Enterprise Architect at Sainsbury's, you will play a critical role in tackling complex technology problems within the retail industry. To deliver our high priority initiatives we need solutions that cross many parts of our technology estate, from our customer-facing sales systems, through our supply-chain and logistics systems and into our commercial and finance systems. We need our Enterprise Architects to understand the end-to-end impact, develop value streams to bring to life the key insights and design decisions that we face and work closely with our other stakeholders across product and engineering to move solutions into delivery.
We expect you to own solving problems and be a great communicator to bring people along with you. You will be guided by our Sainsbury’s technology principles, north stars and strategies and will be a champion in promoting their value and ensuring we are doing the right thing for Sainsbury’s and our customers.
Who you are
As a C5 Enterprise Architect for Sainsbury's Tech, you are a highly experienced and influential professional with a proven track record creating high level solutions in a large and complex enterprise estate. You will have experience in using and developing architecture models and tools across business, data, application and technology architecture.
You will be a confident communicator and are able to effectively facilitate groups of colleagues to align on a solution. You will have the ability to condense complex technology choices into digestible decisions and influence stakeholders at all levels. Your curiosity, adaptability, and ability to think and plan make you a valuable asset in navigating the rapidly evolving tech industry and shaping the future landscape of Sainsbury's multi-brand, multi-channel organisation.
Experience in retail will be beneficial but not essential.
We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer, so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new — whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business - and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we’ll also offer you an amazing range of benefits. Here are some of them:
Starting off with colleague discount, you'll be able to save 10% on your shopping online and instore at Sainsbury's, Argos, TU and Habitat, and we regularly increase the discount to 15% at points during the year. We've also got you covered for your future with our pensions scheme and life cover. You'll also be able to share in our success as you may be eligible for a performance-related bonus of up to 20% of salary, depending on how we perform.
Your wellbeing is important to us too. You'll receive an annual holiday allowance, and you can buy up to an additional week's holiday, and we provide private healthcare. We also offer other benefits that will help your money go further such as season ticket loans, interest free car loan of up to £10k, cycle to work scheme, health cash plans, salary advance (where you can access some of your pay before pay day) as well access to a great range of discounts from hundreds of other retailers. And if you ever need it there is also an Employee Assistance Programme.
Moments that matter are as important to us as they are to you which is why we give up to 26 weeks’ pay for maternity or adoption leave and up to 4 weeks’ pay for paternity leave.
