Working closely with members of the Fraud Prevention, Crime & Security and Loss Prevention Teams.

What you'll do

As the Analytics Manager, Business Protection at Sainsbury's, you will lead an agile, high-calibre team of Analysts to develop solutions that automate decision-making across the business. Your role will involve being the subject matter expert in Business Protection, leveraging Sainsbury's data assets to support the realisation of the Next Level strategy. You will lead and shape projects, maintain relationships with stakeholders, and champion a collaborative approach to requirements gathering and compelling analysis. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, accurate outputs that uncover valuable insights from data, ensuring alignment with the business objectives. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams to deploy solutions efficiently and uphold the development and standards of your team, promoting the importance of Analytics across the organisation while maintaining ethical standards, governance, security, and assurance.

Who you are

As an Analytics Manager for Sainsbury's Business Protection, you are a strategic thinker with a passion for leveraging data insights to drive impactful solutions that support the company's Next Level strategy. With your expertise in leading high-performing analytics teams and utilising core technologies such as Python, SQL, and GitHub, you excel in managing complexity and ambiguity to deliver high-quality, data-driven storytelling. Your ability to collaborate with stakeholders, champion analytics best practises, and uphold ethical and governance standards make you a valuable ambassador for analytics excellence within the organisation.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable experience leading analytics teams, including coaching, upskilling, and managing the full analytics lifecycle from scoping to delivery.
  • Proven ability to develop and deploy analytics solutions using core technologies such as Python, SQL, and GitHub.
  • Track record of delivering business impact through data storytelling, with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering and business stakeholders, to deploy analytics solutions that inform decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of data governance principles and experience applying them in analytics projects.
