What you'll do
As a Data Analyst - Supply Chain within the Argos Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the transformation of the Argos Business, focusing on supply chain strategic priorities and helping commercial and supply chain teams optimise stock holding in stores to achieve working capital targets. You will leverage your analytical skills and commercial insight to provide actionable insights, recommend opportunities for improvement, and deliver analytical value for the Supply Chain divisions. Working with a modern tech stack of SQL, Snowflake, R, Python, and MicroStrategy, you will collaborate with talented colleagues to drive impactful changes at the heart of the Argos.
Who you are
As a Data Analyst - Supply Chain for Sainsbury's Argos team, you must have advanced SQL and be able to write SQL queries from scratch to extract and aggregate data. You are a data-driven professional with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights and driving demonstrable business change through the application of analytics.
Your inquisitive mindset, combined with your ability to propose and interpret key performance indicators, enables you to identify opportunities and guide strategic actions within the supply chain division.
With a passion for high-quality data storytelling and leveraging statistical and predictive techniques, you excel in providing valuable insights to support commercial and supply chain decision-making. Your collaborative approach, commercial acumen, and dedication to continuous learning make you a valuable asset in driving impactful analysis and delivering tangible recommendations to solve complex retail challenges.
Essential Criteria
- Advanced SQL – must be able to write SQL queries from scratch to extract and aggregate data
- A passion for high quality data storytelling. Being able to build and tell compelling stories based on this data.
- Be creative in leveraging new data sets and creating new sources of insight to help solve our toughest commercial & supply chain problems and make tangible recommendations
- Demonstrable experience delivering actionable insight and business change through analytics.
- Experience providing insight to supply chain or logistics functions
- Capability to communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders
