We have 3 Procurement Buyer roles available, across multiple categories. You’ll come into an office, store or depot twice a month on average, with the rest of your time working from home.

What you'll do
You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of commercial sourcing strategies to deliver value for the business. You will collaborate with various functions to source services and products that align with Sainsbury's agendas, leading multiple commercial tenders and negotiations while ensuring compliance with Sainsbury's Procurement Policy. You’ll develop complex commercial strategies, conduct supplier appraisal and selection, and provide analytical support across category areas, ultimately taking ownership of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle. You will leverage your expertise in procurement principles and techniques to drive business change, influence stakeholders effectively, and optimise sourcing outcomes.
Who you are
You have a strong foundation in procurement principles and techniques, driven by commercial acumen and a passion for building a successful career in procurement. Your ability to lead strategic sourcing activities, manage suppliers and stakeholders, and execute end-to-end commercial tenders demonstrates your expertise in delivering value for the business while adhering to procurement policies and standards. With excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a resilient, adaptable nature, you thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable procurement experience, including leading end-to-end commercial tenders and strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating costs and commercial options using data.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to learning and adapting in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ownership mindset with a focus on problem-solving and solution development.
