And around here, you can see the results of your work as soon as you walk into a store, which gives you a real sense of purpose and responsibility. Better still, the team around you will listen to your ideas and opinions, and you’ll have every chance to try something new. The sheer scale and complexity of our set-up means there’s always something else around the corner, and we’ll help and support you every step of the way. We’re trusted to get on with it. So get ready to make things happen here.

About the team

Sainsbury’s Tech is transforming the retail landscape by uniting digital, technology, and data experts to deliver cutting-edge solutions for Sainsbury’s, Argos, and Habitat. The Tech Finance team is at the heart of this transformation, providing insightful financial analysis and partnership to drive innovation—from optimising store operations to pioneering contactless checkout experiences. You will join a collaborative group supporting some of the most exciting projects in retail technology.

More about the role

As a Finance Business Partner for the Retail and Essential Tech Engineering team, you will be instrumental in supporting financial decision-making for a dynamic, fast-paced division. Day-to-day, you’ll partner closely with both finance and cross-functional teams, delivering insightful analysis on project and operating expenditures, especially in relation to retail technology and key capital projects.

You’ll produce management information, support forecasting and budgeting processes, and ensure impacts are clearly understood across projects. You’ll also be empowered to challenge status quo reporting methods and drive continuous improvement, making a tangible impact on delivery and innovation across the business.

Expect to manage periodic reporting, oversee purchase order processes, and collaborate with project managers to provide detailed forecasting and data-driven insights. Your work will directly enhance the effectiveness of key technology initiatives, ensuring strong financial discipline and informed decision-making across Sainsbury’s Tech.

More about you

You thrive in a rapidly evolving environment and are energised by the pace of technological progress. Your analytical acumen and business partnership skills enable you to translate complex financial data into actionable insights, supporting stakeholders of varying technical knowledge. You’re adaptable, open to new ways of working, and proactive in seeking out improvements. Your curiosity extends beyond your immediate role, and you consistently seek feedback to develop yourself and the wider team.

Demonstrating a collaborative and solutions-focused approach, you take ownership of your work and actively contribute to a positive team culture. You’re committed to understanding and supporting others, building trusting relationships, and ensuring that financial processes enhance, rather than hinder, innovative business outcomes.
