Please note, this role is based out of our London Store Support Centre & Home. Colleagues go into the London office 2 days per week on average.

What you'll do

You will play a vital role in partnering with the Category Director and buyers to provide best-in-class finance support, contributing to category planning and conducting various analyses to facilitate decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will include delivering sound financial appraisals, evaluating promotional strategies, seasonal activities, profitability, and investments, all with the aim of exceeding set targets and driving financial performance. Additionally, you will ensure financial rigour, compliance with accounting standards, and provide training to enhance commercial awareness, ultimately supporting the team in making informed decisions aligned with the broader business objectives. Your success will be measured by your ability to act as a valued business partner, drive improved insights through high-quality analysis, achieve targets, streamline reporting processes, and demonstrate enthusiasm and proactive engagement in your role.

Who you are

You are a qualified accountant with a proven track record of providing best-in-class financial support and analysis to drive strategic decision-making and achieve business targets. Your advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, coupled with your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, enable you to deliver high-quality insights, automate reporting processes, and streamline financial operations. Your strong networking and partnering skills, along with your self-motivation and ability to work independently, position you as a valued business partner who can drive process improvements, ensure financial compliance, and enhance commercial awareness within the organisation.

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised accounting qualification - CIMA, ACCA, or ACA (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable business partnering experience within a Commercial Finance role
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency: Demonstrable experience using pivot tables, lookups, power pivots, and macros
  • Stakeholder communication: Proven ability to communicate financial information effectively to senior stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • Evidence of successfully managing tasks and responsibilities autonomously
  • Finance translation for non-finance audiences: Demonstrable ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
