What you'll do
As the External Campaigns Executive at Sainsbury's, reporting to the External Campaigns Manager in the Corporate Affairs division, you will play a pivotal role in supporting campaigning activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering corporate communications and multi-channel campaigns that bring Sainsbury’s purpose to life, drive trust across audiences and position the brand as a driving positive impact across the UK and its food system
- Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders within and beyond the organisation, showcasing Sainsbury's role in making good food joyful, accessible, and affordable for everyone
- Supporting the development and delivery of cohesive external messages that are aligned with Sainsbury's purpose and strategic outcomes
Who you are
As our External Campaigns Executive in Sainsbury's Corporate Affairs division, you are an established communications professional with an understanding of purpose-led, trust-building campaigns and corporate storytelling.
You will have an in depth understanding of the current communications landscape as well as strong media relations skills, digital content experience, direct to stakeholder communications, excellent writing skills and the ability to craft stories and narratives from complex information.
Your creative thinking and effective communication skills will contribute to successful campaign delivery, while your collaborative approach and strong attention to detail ensure cohesive and impactful external narratives that resonate with key stakeholders and audiences.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven communications experience within a large organisation (in the Corporate Affairs or Communications function) or communications agency – including digital and social media, media relations, copywriting skills and/or content development
- Exceptional project management and organisational abilities, with a proactive approach to managing daily tasks and delivering projects independently
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting corporate and consumer-facing messaging and materials
- Natural relationship builder and networker with colleagues across the business
- Solutions-oriented mindset, demonstrating resilience and flexibility in a fast-moving internal environment
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Solid grasp of current affairs, with an understanding of the trends and topics influencing business reputation
- Persuasive communicator, with strong influencing skills
- Established media relationships and experience in media relations
- Experience in digital communications content development and/or social media
