In a nutshell

This role will support the Sainsbury’s Social Media Lead to manage our organic social media channels. 

What you need to do

  • Publish organic, campaign, always on and reactive communications, in line with the brand strategy and customer plan. 
  • Own the social media calendar and write engaging captions for Instagram, TikTok and Meta using our tone of voice.
  • Work with the Social Media Lead to create our organic social media strategy.
  • Work with our in-house agency Zest to facilitate creating organic social content. 
  • Maintain the brand’s social presence across platforms, ensuring profile pages, header images, pinned posts etc are up to date.
  • Attend campaign and colleague content social media shoots.
  • Tracking, measurement, competitor activity and reporting of social activity on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensure the brand acts in line with our social media governance guidelines, maintaining password security and access to accounts.
  • Experience using social media reporting and social listening platforms, like Sprout Social, is a plus.

What you need to know and show

  • Know
    • A deep understanding of social and have experience in creating successful content across both Instagram, Meta and Tik Tok. 
    • Excellent project and cross-functional stakeholder management skills, ideally proven across brands/functions.
    • Experience of working with digital media, creative or influencer agencies.
    • Knowledge of social media tools and platforms (e.g. Sprout).
    • Experience in food or retail (desirable)
  • Show
    • Your love for social! You’re on top of all the latest trends and love thinking about ideas for content.
    • Experience in using editing software e.g. Photoshop/Canva/Capcut to produce and edit content.
    • Self-motivated problem solver who can operate in a fast-paced environment being comfortable under pressure.
    • Strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

What decisions I can make including budget

  • How content is planned and delivered across social channels.
  • How KPIs, metrics and social listening should be responded to.
