What you'll do 

You’ll oversee and continuously improve the compliance framework for FM across a large retail estate. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that FM activities, ranging from statutory maintenance to contractor management, operate within a robust and auditable control environment. You’ll lead the design and implementation of internal controls to ensure safe and legally compliant FM operations, conduct risk assessments, manage the FM risk register, maintain compliance documentation and policies, and engage with internal teams to provide guidance and support.  

Who you are 

You’re a highly skilled and experienced professional with a background in FM compliance, governance, or risk management within a large, multi-site organisation. Your ability to design and manage internal control frameworks, interpret complex data, and communicate effectively with stakeholders is essential. With your structured approach, attention to detail, and strong sense of ownership, you drive high standards and compliance across a complex and fast-moving retail environment while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 

Essential criteria 

  • Demonstrable experience in FM compliance, governance or risk management within a large, multisite environment.  
  • Proven experience of designing, implementing and managing internal control frameworks, including maintaining compliance documentation, policies and auditable processes.  
  • Experience with CAFM/CMMS systems and compliance reporting tools. 
  • Experience of interpreting compliance related data, providing clear insight to stakeholders
