As Risk Manager (C5), you will take the lead in championing safe and compliant practices across Argos Retail, Logistics, and Fulfilment. Reporting to the Head of Central Operations Support, your role centres on day-to-day operational risk management, including tracking and escalating issues, ensuring audit actions are completed, and maintaining robust relationships with specialist teams. You will be instrumental in keeping the business prepared for, and able to respond to, a wide range of incidents.
Your daily activities will involve maintaining the operational risk framework, logging and assessing risks, and ensuring compliance in line with company policy. You will also be engaged in key projects designed to strengthen the resilience of our operations, working closely with colleagues across multiple business areas to drive improvements and deliver tangible results.

To succeed in this role, you’ll possess demonstrable expertise in operational risk, retail risk, fraud prevention, and compliance within a multi-site retail, logistics or fulfilment environment. You’ll be adept at engaging with diverse teams, influencing stakeholders, and driving collaborative solutions.

Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience coordinating operational risk processes across retail, logistics or fulfilment environments, including logging, assessing and tracking risks in line with policy.
- Proven ability to manage audit‑related activity, including assigning actions, monitoring completion status and escalating overdue actions through established governance routes.
- Demonstrated capability in Business Continuity procedures, including maintaining documentation, supporting incident response and ensuring accurate, timely information flow to relevant operational teams.
- Evidence of analysing operational insight data (e.g., ARI themes, incident trends, fraud‑related actions) and converting findings into actionable improvements for cross‑functional teams.
- Proven competence in applying relevant legislation, compliance requirements and internal policies to support safe and compliant store, logistics and fulfilment operations.
