About the team
Argos Retail is at a pivotal point in its turnaround journey, with a strong focus on enabling performance, developing leadership capability and delivering great outcomes for customers and colleagues. Our People team partners closely with senior retail leaders across our regions to translate strategy into effective people plans that support store operations and colleague experience at scale.
This role sits within a collaborative and inclusive People division, working in partnership with the North region to support operational delivery while shaping how people initiatives land where they matter most.
More about the role
As a People Delivery Partner for Argos Retail, you’ll partner directly with a Head of Region to ensure the successful delivery of people plans across your region. You’ll support cyclical people activity, including talent and performance processes, people development interventions, and change and transformation initiatives, working closely with People Partners and People Centres of Expertise to design, implement, and embed these activities effectively.
Day to day, you’ll consult with stakeholders to gain insight and buy‑in, plan and deliver cyclical talent and reward activity, analyse people data to inform priorities, and support the delivery of the wider people plan. You’ll play an active role in driving people initiatives in your region, ensuring they land as joined‑up, positive experiences for both colleagues and line managers.
There is an expectation to spend time in stores to understand the operation through an outcome‑focused lens. This will typically involve approximately 1–2 days per week in stores, depending on business needs. You’ll also collaborate with the wider People team to drive efficiencies, share best practices, and continuously improve how people plans are delivered across Argos Retail.
More about you
You are a people professional with experience delivering people plans and supporting change within fast‑paced, commercially focused environments. You are comfortable working in partnership with senior stakeholders and translating strategic priorities into practical, deliverable actions that add value on the ground.
You bring a commercial mindset, understanding where People activity can have the greatest impact. With insight into retail or customer‑facing operations, you are able to apply judgment to prioritise work that supports business turnaround and performance. You demonstrate curiosity, accountability and a drive to continuously improve how people initiatives are delivered, while modelling inclusive behaviours and building effective relationships.
This role is well-suited to someone looking to develop into a more strategic people-partnering position while retaining a strong focus on delivery and impact.
Essential criteria

- Proven ability to plan, track and deliver people or change initiatives to agreed timescales, identifying and managing risks and issues.
- Evidence of effective stakeholder engagement in operational or geographically dispersed environments, influencing and delivering outcomes.
- Demonstratable experience analysing and using people data to inform decisions or shape People activity.
- Due to the field‑based nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is required
Desirable criteria
- CIPD Level 5 is desirable but not essential.
