About the Team
Our People Division plays a critical role in shaping colleague experience across Sainsbury’s, ensuring our culture, leadership and ways of working enable us to deliver our business strategy. The Organisational Change & Culture team sits at the centre of transformation, partnering across the business to build enterprise-wide change capability and a culture that supports colleague engagement and performance. This team works closely with senior leaders, including Operating Board stakeholders, to drive meaningful behavioural change and embed a human-centred approach to transformation.
More about the role
As Head of Organisational Change & Culture, you will lead the Change Management and Culture Centres of Expertise, shaping how change is delivered across the organisation. You will be responsible for building Sainsbury’s change maturity and driving a culture of human-centred change, in support of our business Strategy and Transformation portfolio. Your team consists of six Org Change & Culture Managers, operating across Sainsbury’s Group.
Day-to-day, you will own and evolve Sainsbury’s approach to Change Management, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment to strategic priorities while building capability across leaders and colleagues. You will partner with Business Strategy, Planning and Transformation teams to understand change impacts and ensure delivery is sequenced and achievable. You will coach, influence and align Transformation teams and senior leaders to successfully embed change. You will be responsible for owning, developing and delivering the organisation’s culture strategy and culture roadmap, driving desired culture shifts through impactful interventions.

You bring demonstrable experience leading organisation-wide change in complex environments, with the ability to translate strategy into practical, high-impact interventions. You are comfortable operating at senior levels, influencing and challenging stakeholders while building alignment across diverse teams.
You are an engaging communicator who can simplify complex change into clear, compelling narratives. You build capability in others through coaching and development, and you are motivated by delivering measurable outcomes that embed lasting cultural and behavioural shifts. You thrive in fast-paced environments, showing sound judgement and prioritisation to ensure the right outcomes are delivered.
Essential Criteria
Proven senior experience in Change Management, driving behavioural, leadership and culture change on complex, cross‑functional transformation programmes at scale
Experience leading organisation‑wide culture change in large, complex organisations across multiple business functions
- Evidence of coaching leaders and teams to build Change Management and Culture capability, influencing and aligning senior stakeholders, including executive-level audience
- Experience designing and implementing change frameworks, methodologies and interventions
Proven ability to lead a high performing team, demonstrating strong judgement, decision-making and development to drive team direction and engagement in fast‑paced environments
